Getting photobombed by a celebrity makes for the best wedding photo ever.

Monday, December 2nd, 2013

Most wedding photos only see the inside of your photo album and the mantle at your parent’s house. But wouldn’t it be amazing if your gorgeous wedding photos were shared by over 3,000 people?

That’s what happened to this lucky(?) couple and photographer Sascha Reinking.

Reinking thought that he recognized a familiar face, Zach Braff, during a wedding photo shoot in NYC. Thinking nothing of it, he tweeted the photo to Braff, the hilarious lead actor of hit TV show, Scrubs. About an hour later the photo was spreading the internet like, well, a photobomb of a celebrity. “@zachbraff Sir, I think you photobombed my newlywed couple the other day in New York. Well played.”

He also shared the photo to his Facebook page with the caption, “I might be mistaken but is that Zach Braff photobombing my newlywed couple?! Only in New York…”

We’ve always loved Zach Braff, and only more after he admitted to the photobomb by tweeting out the photo out to his 1.3 million followers on Twitter, “This is one of my best photobombs ever.”

Art is Life is Art: Nordica Photography

Thursday, November 21st, 2013

As an amateur art collector I define art as “anything I would hang in my home”.

The photographic art shot by Nordica Photography also happens to be his commercial work as a wedding photographer.

For the first time I am tempted to hang images of someone else’s wedding in my home. Because it’s art. But that may be crossing the line between life and art and being creepy.

Here is a recent wedding shot by Jakob at Nordica.

Instead of the traditional UK wedding, Sophia and James wanted a simple affair in a spectacular location. Just the two of them, amazing nature and someone to capture their day in stills.
Never having been to Iceland before, they were attracted by its melancholy and natural wonders. So, just like that, they bought plane tickets, booked the black church at Budir and flew in a photographer from Sweden.
Why not.
Iceland showed it’s best, moody side the day they exchanged vows in Budir, a tiny place a few hours north-west of Reykjavik. Cole and I have visited Iceland a few times by now, but the landscapes never cease to amaze us. It’s the perfect destination if mind-blowing surroundings is what you want for your wedding.
Here’s Sophia and James’ story.

Intimate Rustic Wedding: Georgia and Kent

Wednesday, August 14th, 2013

Thanks to René Tate for sharing this wedding recently shot at the Robinson Mansion in Canon City.

Georgia and Kent are a friendly Missouri couple, who decided to do a destination wedding close to family in Cañon City.  They were scheduled to tie the knot just a mile or two from the Royal Gorge Bridge .  However, the day before their wedding was the day the Royal Gorge fire started.  I believe Georgia was rafting and Kent was zip lining when they got word that they needed to evacuate ASAP.   Needless to say, their wedding plans were completely changed in a second. Fortunately, the beautiful Robinson Mansion was available on short notice.

All fires aside, Georgia and Kent’s wedding was one to be remembered regardless.  These two have had their hard times.  I’ll never forget how sincerely Georgia told me she knew Kent was the one.  She said, from the second he entered the room, she got this chill through her body and she new instantly he was the one.  She said it truly was love at first sight.

By the time Kent was ready to pop the question, tragedy struck Georgia’s family when her two oldest children died in a plane crash.

They decided to move forward with the wedding and you know, I just am so thankful that Kent met Georgia when he did.  I am so thankful that they had each other as they moved forward and processed this unimaginable event.

I am also so amazed at how these two have persevered and how much positivity, love, and excitement poured from them on their wedding day.  Obviously, this was an extremely emotional day as well.  I am so very honored to be the one to capture it. – from René‘s blog.
